Participants should be prepared
to paddle 4 to 6 hours per day with rest stops, travelling as a
group staying close together. We have tried to organize our
trips to satisfy both active adventurers and those looking for a
relaxing vacation. We hope you'll agree we've found the right
balance. Our itinerary is adjusted according to weather
conditions and to suit the needs of each group. Some hiking will
be included when we explore the islands. From the onset of the
trip you will be informed on how to use and care for the
equipment, our equipment is top of the line quality. This is a
catered tour, we cook gourmet meals including fresh seafood and
salads (let us know if you have any special dietary needs).
The evening before your tour we
would like you to meet us at 1167 Helen Road in Ucluelet. Come
and meet your guides, we will give you your dry bags to put your
clothes in and offer some packing advice.
Day one, we meet at 8:30 a.m. at
1167 Helen Road in Ucluelet, we travel together to Tofino which
is where we launch our kayaks for the trip into Clayoquot Sound
(you can drive your own vehicle or catch a ride with us). Here
we unload our equipment and start packing the kayaks. We will
offer packing tips to those that require them. After an
equipment orientation, lessons, and a safety talk, we will begin
paddling. Our arrival time at our campsite for the 1st night
will depend on the physical ability of the group and weather
conditions. Upon arrival, we will set up our camp. Sometimes we
keep our camp in one location for a few days and do day-trips
from the site, other times we may choose to move the camp
frequently during the trip.
Upon registering we will forward
to you a list of what to bring on the trip and a medical form.
The medical form must be completed and returned to us no later
than one week prior to the trip departure. A waiver of liability
must be signed by each participant before we depart on the tour.
