Current ll Tides and Current continues from Current l and examines the process of what and how tide and currents are driven. Next the emphasis is on topography and sea floor geography and how they interact with tides and currents. Hydrology will also make a cameo appearance. Once these concepts are gained then we re-examine tide and current tables but in greater detail and progress to field methods of estimating tide and current levels.

Having a understanding of tide and current tables will put you in good stead for this course. Current l Tide and Current Tables or equivalent is recommended for this course.

Duration

This course is one session on a Tuesday evening so that you can make it after work.

Canadian Tide and Current Tables Volume 5, Juan de Fuca and Straight of Georgia, 2006 Edition. We have a limited number of copies available for use, it is highly recomended that you purchase your own copy. Please see the List of Canadian Hydrographic Service Dealers.
