Develop skills and tools to travel with more safety, confidence and freedom. This intermediate rescue skills course picks up after the basics of wet exit, solo and assisted re-entries to provide you with skills for what ifs on longer crossings, or anytime when you need to bring a friend back to shore.

Important
Much as wisdom isn't gained on a full stomach, learning the nuances of rescues demand that you commit yourself to the practice. This program is based on active participation and involves being in the water. Bring appropriate immersion gear, either a wetsuit and dry top, or a dry suit; and appropriate clothing. Have a change of clothes for after the session.
Duration
This is a full day course. Pack a lunch, snacks and water.
Location
We put in from our Adventure Centre at Brechin Boat Launch on Newcastle Channel, where we teach the course.
Required course material
Bring either a wetsuit and dry top, or a dry suit; and appropriate clothing. Have a change of clothes for after the session. Food for fuel and water to keep your energy and warmth levels up.

Prerequisites
Basic self-rescue skills (i.e. exit, solo and assisted re-entries), and basic paddling level or Essential Kayaker are required for this course.
